Raja Singh receives huge flack from Pakistan for this song.
A Bharatiya Janata Party MLA Thakur Raja Singh Lodh from Telangana recently took to Twitter and stated that he would release a patriotic song on the eve of Ram Navami. On 12th April, he tweeted saying,
"My new song which will be released on 14th April at 11:45 am on the occasion of #SriRamNavami is dedicated to our #IndianArmy forces."
Along with the tweet, he also attached a video of him recording the song titled 'Apni Himmat Watan'.
Turns out that the tune and lyrics of the song are similar to that of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) song released ahead of Pakistan Day in March. Many Pakistani officials claimed that the song was identical to their patriotic song 'Pakistan Zindabad' sung by Sahir Ali Bagga. The song is also present on the verified YouTube channel of ISPR and is dedicated to the Pakistani armed forces.
Two days after the release of this video, Major General Asif Ghafoor, the director general of Pakistan’s ISPR, said,
“Glad that you copied. But copy to speak the truth as well.”
However, Raja Singh said that he had no idea about the existence of such a song in Pakistan and said, "I don't have any clue about this Pakistani song. How do I know what the team composes or does? I didn't even hear this Pakistani song even until now."
Later, he released a video clip on Twitter where he said,
"It is good to see that the Pakistani media is covering my ‘Hindustan zindabad’ song. I'm more surprised that even a terrorist nation produces singer's. #Pakistani singer's may have copied my song we don't have to copy anything from a terrorist state like Pakistan."
The video went viral on Twitter and received a lot of backlash from netizens. Initially, many viewers commented on the use of Urdu words, but later, people from Pakistan identified it as a copy of Pakistan Zindabad anthem released by ISPR.
He has never been secretive of his disdain for Pakistan and had earlier called for the removal of Sania Mirza as the brand ambassador of Telangana. "We don’t need to make a Pakistani daughter-in-law our brand ambassador," Singh said to the Goshamahal constituency legislator.
Raja Singh is a member of the Telangana Legislative Assembly representing the Goshamahal assembly constituency of Hyderabad. He also occupies the position of a party whip for Telangana. He is known for his pro-Hindutva ideology and hate speeches which sparked many controversies in the state. He records a new song every year to play it during his massive procession carried out in his constituency on Ram Navami.
